Independent authors and publishers have hired me to provide both inside page layouts and eye-catching covers. Special contract rates are available to fit the tight budgets normally associated with book publishing!
Effective February 1, 2025, Gordon Bond Designs will not perform work for any client who employs any form of artificial intelligence (AI) in the creation of content for a job. GBD has never and will never use AI in the creation of content for clients. Gordon Bond's position is that generative AI destroys human creativity and is a form of theft. If you disagree, go elsewhere.
About me
I decided to go freelance back in 2009, after twenty-one years of working for others in a wide range of capacities as a graphic designer. By the time I graduated art school back in 1988, I already had three years experience working part time at an ad agency and newspaper publisher. I've seen the evolution of the industry from marker-comps and paste-ups to desktop publishing and websites. Whether it's a simple logo job or a multi-phase website revamping or a major museum exhibit, there is no design challenge that scares me anymore!
I have a particular affinity for New Jersey history through my NJ history resources website GardenStateLegacy.com Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to combine my interests and perform design work for history authors, historical societies, and museums - as well as my own book projects. So, in addition to commercial work, I specialize in bringing quality design services to local non-profit history groups at discounted rates.

Commercial clients: $75.00 per hour
Non-Profit clients: $50.00 per hour
Contract rates available for some projects.
